Sometimes I can work for hours and hours on a piece. When the piece is finished I can sometimes be disappointed in the outcome.
That's what happen to this piece.
After a few weeks of this piece sitting in a corner I decided to see if I could improve the design. I carved some negative space in to this piece, then a little more negative space.
The transformation was like magic. From what was a "heavy" looking piece to a lively piece with much movement.

From my mini collection. Sometimes you never really know how good the grain in a piece of wood is until you come to the final polishing. Doesn't get any better for Hawaiian curly Koa wood, fine tight bands of figured wood with great rich color. The design comes from work I did in the 90's. Such a sweet little piece.

I haven't done a Come to me Dancing piece in quite awhile. I thought that this colorful piece of Milo wood would make for a great mini Come to me Dancing piece. Just a wonderful piece.
