Oil painting Pheasant wood Sculptural Spoon by Derek bencomo Bencomo

Pheasant wood Sculptural Spoon

In between large scale sculptures, I need to rest my arms and hands. Before I start my next project I like to warm up my arms and hands with making a sculptural spoon. Most of these spoons are made using exotic woods, some woods so expensive to use that sculpturing a spoons is the only affordable way to work with some of these woods. I normally keep these pieces for my own collection because the time and labor on these pieces would make them too expensive to market. Now I have too many and will be parting with some of these Sculptures.

Hawaiian Pheasant wood Sculptural  utensil 19.5 long by 2  inches wide, 3/4 inches tall. Hand rubbed oil finish.

A wonderful example of this rare wood from Hawaii. More of a stir utensil then a spoon. Wonderful piece for your collection.
