Two Forms
I made this piece in 2009 while I was doing a fellowship with the Museum of Wood Art in Philadelphia. I first found the larger piece at a wood dump, and later on I found a smaller version. I was reading a Barbara Hepworth book at the time. This is the best sculpture that I have ever made. I like the small details that I put into the piece, little muscle and tendons, which helped produce some tension into the piece giving it a sense of movement. The wood is Bartlett Pear, The larger piece measures 23 x 16 x 14 inches and the smaller piece measures 13 x 8 x 16 inches
