Norfolk Island Pine is always a mystery. What I thought would be a lighter color, came in real dark, too dark to the point that I thought that I would not finish this piece. After about 10 soakings in oil the piece lighten up and this wonderful grain came out. I used some negative space to highlight the form on this piece.
